W&H Autoclave: What to Check Before You Buy in Malaysia
W&H is an Austrian dental company whose tabletop sterilisers are often quoted to Malaysian dental clinics. This is an independent buyer’s guide, not a dealer page.
About W&H
W&H is an Austrian manufacturer based in Bürmoos, near Salzburg, best known for dental handpieces. It also makes reprocessing equipment for dental practices, including tabletop steam sterilisers and handpiece maintenance devices. In Malaysia its autoclaves are most often seen in dental clinics.
Lisa
W&H’s best-known tabletop steriliser range, sold as a Class B unit in more than one chamber size. Confirm the class, chamber size and generation of the exact model you are quoted.
Lina
A simpler W&H tabletop range positioned below Lisa. Compare its cycle times, drying and record options with Lisa’s rather than assuming they are the same machine.
Assistina
The name W&H uses for its handpiece cleaning and lubrication devices. It is a maintenance unit, not a steriliser, so do not count it as part of the sterilisation step.
Checklist for a W&H quote
- The exact model name, generation and chamber size — not just “Lisa”.
- The EN 13060 class and the manufacturer’s declaration of conformity.
- The MDA registration number for that model, checked on the MDA public register.
- Which cycles are included — 134 °C, 121 °C, prion or quick cycles — and their full times with drying for a full load.
- How cycles are recorded — built-in memory, USB, network connection or a label printer — and which of these are in the price.
- The water quality the unit needs, and whether water treatment is included or quoted separately.
- Who imports it, who services it in your state, where parts are held and the usual repair turnaround.
- Warranty length and whether it covers parts and labour.
Handpieces and the autoclave
Because W&H also makes handpieces, a quote may bundle a steriliser with a handpiece maintenance device. Whatever brand of autoclave you choose, handpieces still need cleaning and lubrication as their makers specify before the Class B cycle. A maintenance device can make that step more consistent; it does not replace sterilisation.

Comparing W&H with other brands
W&H, Melag, Euronda, Tuttnauer and several Chinese and Korean manufacturers all sell Class B tabletop units into Malaysia. Within the same class and chamber size, specifications are often close; the differences show up in service response, parts prices, record-keeping and drying performance. Compare quotes on the same class and size, and ask every supplier for the same list of items.
